The Disraeli School Governing Body and Diversity Data.

Our School is committed to having a governing board that is diverse and inclusive and reflective of the community we serve.

What our Governors do

Governors are a group of people that have chosen to work together to make a difference to the children who attend the school.

The individuals make up what is called The Governing Body.

The Governing Body is made up of different members of the community including parents, staff and members of the community.

They play a very important and valuable role in our school and work closely with the Co-Headteachers and staff.

Governors are the guardians of all Disraeli pupils’ education and entitlements. They make sure children get the very best education and valuable experiences that they can by acting as critical friends and holding the Senior Leadership Team to account.

 The Co-Headteachers are responsible for:-

Day to day running of the school.

Implementation of School policy.

Implementation of the curriculum.

The Co-Headteachers are accountable to the Governing body.

The Governing body...

Has overall responsibility for the aim and direction of the school.

Is accountable to the local authority and the parents for the way the school is run.

What the Governing body does:-

Focus on raising standards of achievement, establishing high expectation and promoting effective teaching and learning.

They decide what the school vision should be and make plans to get there.

Help to set and renew policies.

Ensure that there are systems in place to check that progress is made towards targets.

The Governing bodies take advice from the Co-Headteachers before making their own decisions.

In their role, Governors:-

Make visits to lessons, assemblies and productions.

Look at pupil work.

Set and monitor the school budget.

Talk to the children and staff.
