1. The name of the school is The Disraeli School.
2. The school is a community school.
3. The name of the Governing Body is 'The Governing Body of The Disraeli School.'
4. The Governing Body consists of:
- 2 parent governors
- 1 LA governor
- 1 staff governor
- 1 Headteacher
- 7 co-opted governors
5. The total number of governers is 12.
6. The Instrument of Government comes into effect on 28th November 2019.
7. This Instrument of Government was made by order of Buckinghamshire Local Authority on 28th November 2019.
8. A copy of the Instrument of Government must be supplied to every member of the Governing Body.
Information about our Governors
What our Governors do
Governors are a group of people that have chosen to work together to make a difference to the children who attend the school.
The individuals make up what is called The Governing Body.
The Governing Body is made up of different members of the community including parents, staff and members of the community.
They play a very important and valuable role in our school and work closely with the Co-Headteachers and staff.
Governors are the guardians of all Disraeli pupils’ education and entitlements. They make sure children get the very best education and valuable experiences that they can by acting as critical friends and holding the Senior Leadership Team to account.
The Co-Headteachers are responsible for:-
Day to day running of the school.
Implementation of School policy.
Implementation of the curriculum.
The Co-Headteachers are accountable to the Governing body.
The Governing body...
Has overall responsibility for the aim and direction of the school.
Is accountable to the local authority and the parents for the way the school is run.
What the Governing body does:-
Focus on raising standards of achievement, establishing high expectation and promoting effective teaching and learning.
They decide what the school vision should be and make plans to get there.
Help to set and renew policies.
Ensure that there are systems in place to check that progress is made towards targets.
The Governing bodies take advice from the Co-Headteachers before making their own decisions.
In their role, Governors:-
Make visits to lessons, assemblies and productions.
Look at pupil work.
Set and monitor the school budget.
Talk to the children and staff.
