Safeguarding for Parents

How We Keep Children Safe

Our Promise to Families

Your child’s safety is our highest priority. Every adult in our school is responsible for keeping children safe, happy and protected. We follow national guidance, work closely with other agencies, and create a culture where children feel listened to and supported.

Who to Contact

If you ever have a concern about a child’s safety or wellbeing, please speak to our

Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) - Miss Paula O'Shea

or

Deputy DSL - Miss Pikulski, Mrs Gowers, Mrs Khan, Mrs Vora, Mrs Gomm and Miss Shafique. They are specially trained to help and will act quickly.

What Safeguarding Means in Our School

Safeguarding covers everything we do to protect children from harm, including:

  • Child protection

  • Online safety

  • Mental health and wellbeing

  • Safer recruitment of staff and volunteers

  • Preventing bullying and peer‑on‑peer abuse

  • Supporting families through early help

  • Working with health, social care and other professionals

How We Protect Children

We act quickly

If staff are worried about a child, they report it straight away to the safeguarding team. Concerns are taken seriously and followed up promptly.

We teach children how to stay safe

Children learn about healthy relationships, online safety, trusted adults, and how to ask for help.

We work closely with families

We believe in open communication. If we have concerns, we will talk with you and work together to support your child.

We work with other agencies

When needed, we work with social care, health professionals and other services to make sure children get the right help at the right time.

We keep staff trained

All staff receive regular safeguarding training so they know how to spot concerns and respond appropriately.

We keep our site safe

Visitors sign in, wear ID badges and follow our safeguarding rules. All staff and volunteers have the necessary background checks.

Online Safety

We teach children how to use technology safely and responsibly. Our filtering and monitoring systems help protect pupils, and we support parents with advice on keeping children safe at home.

If You Have a Concern

You can speak to any member of staff, but please contact the DSL team if you have a safeguarding concern. You will always be listened to.

Our Policies

Our safeguarding policies explain how we protect children and how concerns are managed. They are available on our website for all families to read.

Don't forget to read the newsletter EVERY week! It always has a section with something new about keeping children safe. From sun safety to social media; screen time to smoking; violence against women to county lines, and so much more.
